Funds raised will be used to purchase land and construct a building in one of the poorer areas of Siliguri. The ground floor of the building will be used to house the kitchen, storage area and administrative office. The goal will be to feed one thousand persons daily. Rooms upstairs will be used to give shelter to destitute women, with the goal being economic empowerment and eventual independence. As an intermediate step, an existing building may be rented so that feeding the people can start at the earliest. |
